Thank you for visiting Integrative Energy Healing. I look forward to helping you on your journey to maintaining or finding your health and wellbeing. The modalities of acupressure, sound healing, and energy healing are the foundations of my practice.

The word integrative is used because the modalities of acupressure, sound healing, and energy healing converge and are accessible to us at the level of the innate wisdom of the energy body. The one thing all the healing modalities have in common, at the deepest layer, is the body: at both the physical and energic levels. Integrative is also used to refer to integrating these therapies with conventional medical treatments. In other words, these therapies and treatments are complementary to one another. For example, acupressure may be used concurrently with conventional medicine in the treatment of many acute and chronic illnesses.

Energy therapies are based on the ancient concept that there is a vital life force (qi/ki/chi, prana, mana, bioenergy), an underlying flow of formless and unseen energy both within the physical body and extending from it, that enlivens us. Ordinary illness develops when a person’s energy becomes blocked, stagnated, or unbalanced. These things occur because of trauma (e.g., a fall that hurts the knee), emotions (e.g., grief, anxiety, fear), and external pathogens (e.g., cold temperatures, wind, food). Our goal at Integrative Energy Healing, as my acupressure teacher Cindy Black frequently said, is to “support the client in maintaining abundant and flowing qi” so that you can live wholly, and find or maintain your health and wellbeing. “Restoring abundant and flowing qi” translates into more medical terms to mean that cell, tissue, organ, and systemic functions are improved through (among other necessary functions) increased blood flow, oxygen levels, and nutrient availability resulting in greater health and vitality.

SERVICES

The core of your session will most likely be acupressure. I will incorporate sound healing, energy healing, therapeutic essential oils, and recommendations for lifestyle changes as you and I see fit to optimize your treatment for the best therapeutic outcome. As an example, if my client is being treated for anxiety, acupressure points will be activated to calm the nervous system and to address the specific root cause of the anxiety (if known). As therapeutic supports, sound healing, essential oils, and lifestyle suggestions will be integrated into the session.

  • This effective modality works with the invisible energy (qi, prana, life force) that flows through energy pathways (channels or meridians) throughout the body. Through activation of these pathways, health can be restored. Perhaps more importantly, this practice supports vitality and wellness in the healthy person, thereby preventing illness.

  • Acupressure excels, as mentioned above, at keeping the healthy person healthy and vital: mind, body, and spirit. This practice also treats many different conditions such as acute (e.g., sinusitis) and chronic illnesses (e.g., Inflammatory Bowel Disease); musculoskeletal pain (e.g., joint issues); nervous system afflictions such as anxiety, Seasonal Affective Disorder, chronic stress, or grief. In short, acupressure brings balance to the mind, body, and spirit when balance is compromised.

  • The shamans and healers of indigenous cultures worldwide have practiced energy healing for millennia. Living in our 21st century culture has pulled many of us away from the “unified field” that energizes us and connects us, not only to our innate beings, but also to one another. Things that disconnect (i.e., pull our awareness from the natural flow of energy within us) are, for example, illness, injury, overdomestication, or living in our minds too much. Animals and babies know how to connect to the unified field. Energy Healing helps us to reconnect.

  • Energy healing or energy medicine is an ancient system of healing based on an underlying energy flow (vital force, life energy, qi, mana, ki, prana) both within the physical body and also extending from it. This practice excels at treating many conditions of the nervous system (e.g., stress or anxiety); emotional states such as fear or grief. Energy healing also supports the immune system to function optimally. It restores our energy and vitality.

  • Essential oils may be used as part of your session. Depending upon which oils are used, therapeutic change arises in mind, emotions, body, and spirit.

  • Essential oils are renowned for their therapeutic benefits, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being. These potent extracts, derived from various plants, possess unique properties that can uplift mood, alleviate stress, enhance mental clarity, and promote relaxation, among other things. Whether diffused aromatically or applied topically, essential oils can stimulate the senses and evoke feelings of calmness, clarity, and vitality. With a wide array of scents such as lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus, each oil carries its own set of healing properties, ranging from soothing sore muscles to supporting respiratory health. Essential oils have been used in practices like aromatherapy for centuries. Today these oils can complement modern wellness protocols. Their ability to enhance physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional well-being makes them a valuable addition to any holistic health regimen.

  • The sound healing modality uses music and sound frequencies to effect bodily, spiritual, and emotional changes. Some people are more sensitive to sound and its effects than others. Other energy therapies (e.g., acupressure, energy healing,…) will be part of the session. Another option is that the client may choose to experience a sound bath only (without accompanying therapies).

  • Whether it is the sound of the Westminster Cathedral bells, bird song, chimes dancing in the wind, a classical symphony, ocean waves, or a Tibetan singing bowl, sound can move us, transport us, inspire us, change our brain wave patterns, shift our consciousness, and heal us. Sound and music support the body’s innate healing mechanisms. They can effect positive changes in the integrity and function of cells, tissues, and organs, thereby restoring health to those parts of the body.

Sound healing is very effective at treating stress, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, inflammatory conditions, and chronic pain. It also relaxes the overactive thinking mind. It can alter the client’s brain wave state so that the creative and learning mind is more receptive.

  • Lifestyle support is an adjunct to acupressure, sound healing, and energy healing. This adjunct provides personalized recommendations to help you navigate lifestyle choices that will result in e.g., improved wellness, more energy to meet your days’ needs, and sounder sleeps. Sessions are one hour and can incorporate any of the other healing modalities as you and I see fit.

  • The lifestyle support aspect of healing treatment is a large umbrella comprising many factors. Healing modalities aren’t worth much unless the client lives a life that embraces many things! Included are: being active/exercise; eating healthfully (it’s not a one-size-fits-all); supportive and loving relationships; practices that promote inner peace, calm, mindfulness, and an expanding consciousness; doing meaningful work; living and playing in a place that you love.
