Serenity Gardens

Immersion in nature boosts immunity and overall well-being.

My lifelong love of plants is seen inside my 1836 stone schoolhouse and outdoors as well. Gardens, plants, and wild natural areas provide psychological, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits to humans, myself included! A large part of this is because of the innate connection that humans have to nature. The healing process of hospital ICU post-surgical patients is lessened when patients can view a picture of plants or a landscape at the foot of their beds. Forest bathing has become a way for people to become calm and quiet amongst trees and woodland areas. Immersion in gardens and nature supports people by boosting their immunity, relaxing their nervous systems and high-thinking minds, and increasing overall well-being.

Barbara Raab

As a small child I was aware of my treasured connection with the plant kingdom and the greater natural world, and to the subtle energies, the unseen world, of the human experience.

I taught Natural Medicine, Holistic Health, Western Botanical Medicine, and Horticulture at the University of Vermont for 26 years. Bramblewood Gardens, my former home and gardens in Hinesburg, VT, was the location for teaching herbalism, wild edibles, and wellness apprenticeships to the community for many years.

My areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: the nervous system (e.g., Chronic Stress, nervous system depletion, anxiety); the digestive system (e.g., dysbiosis, inflammatory conditions, diverticulosis, liver health); respiratory system (e.g., chronic bronchitis); emotional states of grief, loss, SAD (seasonal affective disorder) because of our long gray winters, and others.

Teddy the dog shares my old schoolhouse home. The interior has been fully renovated and the exterior is still under restoration. Please know that I burn incense on a regular basis. If this is objectionable please let me know before your appointment!

My Mentors

Integreton at Joshua Tree
  • Dr. Low Dog taught me a continuing template for Natural Medicine and Holistic Health. She was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. She currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Weil (Dr. Andrew Weil) Lifestyle in Arizona. Her contributions to my understanding of Natural Medicine have been vast!

  • Cindy founded the Big Tree School of Natural Healing and taught Acupressure and Meridian Massage. She is a generous and compassionate teacher. I learned about the importance of “abundant and flowing qi “ in the human body as a basis for health and vitality.

  • I appreciate David for his inspirational instruction in the study and arena of esoteric [Human] Energetics, the human energy system, its scope, and how to keep it healthy. His understanding and experience helped me comprehend things that hadn’t been articulated to me before.

  • One of the world’s leading scientists and researchers in Acoustic-Physics, John instructs a wide range of professionals and practitioners about the healing potential of frequency, sound, and music.

  • Ann Marie has been, and continues to be, a great source of information and inspiration in the field of traditional energy healing. She lives both in the worlds of medicine-science as well as indigenous traditions steeped in the healing of the human energy field, and our connection to the “unified field” of energy.

  • I have been a long-time student of meditation, and was fortunate enough to study with this meditation master in the Himalayas of northern India. Swamiji gave me the experience of losing the ego and immersing in the field of infinite consciousness. I am forever grateful for his teachings as they have changed my life for the better.

  • Dr. Beaulieu’s work integrates science, medicine, sound, and resonance frequencies. He has vastly increased my understanding of “tuning” the human body. In his words, “Our bodies can be tuned like musical instruments. When they are properly tuned we have a sense of well-being and perfect self expression.”
